Biography

Israr is from a professional marketing background and has Chartered marketer status.

She graduated with a master's degree in strategic marketing management at Kingston University, and gained a PGCEHE and SFHEA. She is currently undertaking a PhD related to women presentation and is an external examiner for a Malaysian University and London School of Fashion.

  1. Industry experience

    Israr has worked in a variety of industries ranging from drinks, fashion, charities, cars and international properties. She worked for the Chamber of Commerce where she undertook projects that helped SMEs develop strategies for new products, marketing the companies, and improving processes and sales. She has also ran her own business providing freelance consultancy to international property developers. Israr is a Fellow member of the Leaders and Managers Institution.
  2. Teaching experience

    Israr started teaching professional marketing managers CIM qualifications on a part-time basis, then briefly taught evening courses to professionals at Eastleigh and Sparsholt colleges before joining Solent as a project manager on a number of strategic development projects in the fashion school.
    Israr was a course leader for BA (Hons) Fashion Management with Marketing for seven years and is now a work-based learning project leader for all the fashion courses. This role focuses on level 6 students, as well as building and sustaining relationships with industry experts across the courses.

    Israr has developed key relationships with industry specialists that are now partners of the BA (Hons) Fashion Management with Marketing. Her interest is focussed on making students more employable when they graduate, thus the Fashion Management with Marketing course contains many aspects of industry that enhances the students' knowledge about commercial performance.
