Mark is a qualified engineer who served in the Royal Navy for over 20 years in a variety of ships and submarines. After leaving the Navy, Mark spent 10 years as a training manager at a maritime training school before joining Warsash as a senior lecturer in 2012, teaching a range of safety, leadership and management courses, and is the course leader for HELM and shipboard safety officer courses.
Mark was appointed as principal lecturer in July 2014 and has overall management responsibility for the management, medical and petrochemical/LICOS course delivery sections at the academy. He was appointed as interim head of maritime professional development in May 2016.
