Kamran received his BEng (Hons) degree in electrical engineering from Air University, Pakistan in 2008, his MSc degree in telecommunication engineering from Staffordshire University in 2011, and his PhD  in electronics engineering (focused in telecommunication networks) from Staffordshire University in 2017.

He worked as a part-time lecturer at Staffordshire University from 2012–2017. He then worked as a researcher and lecturer at Birmingham City University from 2017-2018. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Solent University.

Kamran has taught a wide portfolio of courses in electronics, signal processing and telecommunications at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He has profound knowledge of various engineering tools and programming languages such as MatLab, simulink, Mentum Planet, LaTeX, C and C++.

He is a reviewer for several academic journals, including IEEE Access Journal, IEEE Transactions of Wireless Communication and Elsevier Journal.

Research interests

Kamran’s Research Interests are on 5G networks and IoT communications, with an emphasis on dynamic spectrum sharing and allocation, Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) and multi antenna systems. Kamran have expertise in problem structuring, algorithm-based solutions, mathematical modelling and programming.
