Biography

Sajid joined Solent as a lecturer in business and management in January 2019.

Sajid has a PhD from Middlesex University Business School (MUBS); MSc Research Methods from MUBS; MA Corporate Social Responsibility from International Centre for CSR (ICCSR), Nottingham University Business School (NUBS); and MSc Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan. He holds Prince 2 Foundation Certificate.

He has more than 25 years' teaching, research and management experience. He has worked with a research policy think tank – Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Pakistan, and has also provided consulting services to various organisations including UNEP, UNICEF, FAO, UNCTAD, ICIMOD, ILO and the World Bank.

Sajid has published articles in internationally reputed journals and has co-authored two books – one was published by OUP and the other by Palgrave MacMillan, US. His PhD dissertation was published. He has also contributed chapters to edited books.

Sajid is serving as a reviewer for World Development, the multi-disciplinary journal devoted for the study and promotion of world development. He is also peer reviewer for the Journal for Social and Political Research (JSPR), University of Gujrat, Pakistan.

Sajid’s areas of research include social capital, labour issues and corporate social responsibility.

Sajid is fluent in English, Punjabi, Urdu, Saraiki, Sindhi and Hindi.

    Sajid has programme management experience in the non-profit sector.

    Sajid has taught at both further and higher education levels. He taught economics at college and university level in Pakistan, and has been teaching at further and higher education institutions in the UK.

    Sajid's research interests lie in social capital, labour issues and corporate social responsibility.
