Biography

Sara is the programme group leader for international, tourism and events within the School of Business, Law and Communication. She is responsible for tourism, events and top-up courses across the school and for the development and management of international partnerships.

Sara provides leadership, management and direction to the development of the schools portfolio and works to ensure the delivery of high quality learning experiences for students on existing and new programmes of study.

Sara joined Southampton Solent University as a senior lecturer in 1997 and was appointed principal lecturer in 2002. She was then appointed principal lecturer for faculty enhancement in 2007 and a teaching and learning fellow in 2009.

She has developed and led on a range of strategic teaching and learning initiatives and pedagogic research. She launched and edits the Solent University pedagogic journal and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Pedagogic Development and higher education, skills and work-based learning.   

Sara has held a wide range of external examiner positions and is currently external examiner for both Dock Business School and Staffordshire University (Chengdu provision). She has experience with due diligence work both in the UK and overseas and has sat on a broad range of University committees, including academic board, research and enterprise committee.

Sara was chair of university ethics committee for a three year tenure. She has a broad range of experience with validations, leading the development of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, chairing internal validation panels and sitting on external validation panels.
