Biography

Lara studied Applied Psychology at Durham, where she attained her BSc (Hons) degree. She has gained her teaching qualification, PGCLT(HE), and a PG Certificate in Blended Learning here at Solent University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Industry experience

Lara's background is in mental health and learning disabilities. She is qualified to teach Paws b and is currently training to be a Connected Kids tutor.

Teaching experience

Lara teaches the following modules: Brain and Behaviour, Psychological Wellbeing, Psychology and Technology, Developing Professional Skills Using Psychology, and Psychology Placement.

Research interests

Lara's research interests include spatial cognition, in particular spatiotemporal reasoning and graphical reasoning and representation. Recent interests centre on positive psychology, wellbeing, yoga, and mindfulness. Her current research examines the impact and role mindfulness has within educational settings.
