Student Hub
The experienced and professional staff in the Student Hub team can provide information, advice and guidance on all aspects of student life. They're the first point of contact for any queries about your course, or any personal matters that may affect your studies.
This includes,
- Student status letters.
- Course transfers, suspension and withdrawal.
- Extenuating circumstances.
- Safeguarding.
- Spirituality and reflection.
- Replacement campus cards.
- References.

The Student Hub is open 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 4pm, Friday. You can find the Student Hub in The Spark at TS114.

Disability support
The disability advice team is Solent University’s disability and neurodiversity advice service The team advise on support available at university to remove barriers to learning and enable you to develop as an independent learner. Students are encouraged to declare any disabilities, long medical conditions, or specific learning difficulties to explore setting up any possible support for their studies. The team can be contacted at disability@solent.ac.uk.
Mental health and wellbeing
Our mental health and wellbeing service provides a range of support should you experience any difficulties during your studies. The team provide mental health adviser support, talking therapies, and access to self help support.
Student funding
The student funding team can help you with all matters relating to your student finance, this includes:
- Government Student Finance eligibility.
- How and when to apply for funding.
- Help with more complex student finance matters (including residency and compelling personal reasons).
- Eligibility for state benefits.
- Help if your student finance is delayed.
- Liaison with Student Finance regarding estrangement
The team also administer a range of non-repayable grants which you may be eligible for.

Student achievement team
Achievement mentoring scheme
The student achievement team co-ordinate and work collaboratively with course teams to provide students with the opportunity to access peer mentoring. The mentoring scheme involves level 5 students providing mentoring to new level 4 students, and level 3 students who have moved into level 4 mentoring new level 3 students - offering pastoral and general study skills support.
At the start of the academic year, you'll receive an email inviting you to register for the Solent achievement mentoring scheme.
