Solent awarded the EcoCampus Silver Award

Southampton Solent University has been awarded the EcoCampus Silver Award, in recognition of its work to improve its sustainability and environmental performance.

The EcoCampus scheme provides a four-stage framework to manage sustainability performance in line with international standards. From planning and implementation to operation and checking and correcting, the scheme covers areas such as carbon and energy management and corporate social responsibility. The University’s Silver Award marks the implementation stage within the scheme.

Solent University’s Environmental and Sustainability Manager Martin Walton says: “The University is committed to achieving excellence in sustainability and the EcoCampus scheme helps demonstrate we are taking action to improve our environmental impact.”

He added: “We are really pleased to have attained the EcoCampus Silver Award and will continue our efforts to further improve our sustainability, reduce our costs on energy and waste and learn from best practice within the sector.”
