For the third year running, Solent is a proud sponsor of Southampton Pride, which will kick off on Saturday 25 August – come along and join in the celebrations!

The free event features lots fun things to do for all ages, including family activities such as a mobile farm, play bus and face painting. This year’s Pride will also see the return of the market hall, with a variety of businesses and LGBT+ organisations hosting stands inside the Guildhall.

The celebration will last from 11am-11pm, with live acts including The Cheeky Girls, Union J and multi-award-winning Lady Gaga impersonator, Donna Marie. The Pride parade will set off from Guildhall Square at 2pm, making its way through the city centre to the Bargate and back.

As one of the main sponsors for the day, Solent will be bringing along giant deckchairs for you to get a photo in. We'll also be giving away free Pride flags at our stand - be sure to stop by and grab one!

Tere McGonagle-Daly, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor and Stonewall Diversity Champion, says: “We are very excited to be sponsoring Southampton Pride for another year. Solent University is proud to celebrate our diverse community of staff and students. Pride is one of the wonderful events which demonstrates how supportive, welcoming and diverse Southampton is as a city.”
