Submit your nomination for the Solent University Award, which recognises the positive contribution of a Solent staff member, student or alumni.

26th October 2020

Preparation is underway for the 15th annual Unity 101 Anniversary Award and Achievement event which, despite Covid-19, will still put a spotlight on the positive stories and achievements within our local community. Solent University has supported the awards for a number of years, and we are once again looking for a Solent staff member, student or an alumni to receive the Solent University Award.

The Solent University Award recognises the positive contribution of a Solent staff member, student or alumni within the local community and this year, in particular, who has gone above and beyond in supporting the local community of Southampton during the Covid-19 pandemic and in line with our Civic Charter priorities. Last year’s award winner was Kate Maple, Gallery Curator at Solent Showcase Gallery. Kate was awarded for her dedication to the local community, enabling people from across the city to be involved with the arts.

The Anniversary Awards and Achievement evening takes place each January (with this year's 2021 event going virtual), taking the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of groups of individuals within our local community. This year, Solent staff and students will be providing crucial technical support by pre-recording key parts of the event from our studios and live broadcasting the event to the local community, enabling more people than ever to be involved.

If you would like to nominate a Solent student, colleague or alumni for this award, please complete this form by midday on Tuesday 3 November. Please note that information you submit via this form could be used for promotional purposes. This award and the nomination process is only open to staff, students and alumni of Solent University.

The winner of this award will be selected by Solent’s BAME Staff Network. The award winner will be invited to attend the virtual Unity 101 Awards and Achievement event on Friday 8 January where they will officially receive this award.

We look forward to reading all nominations and if you have any questions, please email the Advancement and Civic Engagement Team.
