Claire Merritt, specialist employment law solicitor of Paris Smith Solicitors, and Audrey Horton, senior lecturer of Southampton Solent Business School HRM subject group, led an informative and useful session on the new rules relating to ‘protected conversations’.
This makes it easier for employers and employees to have frank and risk free discussions about possible termination of employment when things aren’t working out, safe in the knowledge that this candour cannot come back to haunt them in a subsequent employment tribunal claim.
50+ human resource management networkers, comprising of human resources professionals leaders; senior and line managers; professional students and Solent alumni, engaged in this collaborative session as we were treated to role play and gained an understanding of the ‘protected conversations’ process.
