Solent students awarded at City College celebration

Esther Collier, who is studying BA (Hons) Photography Top-up, and Leon Clements Beall, on BA (Hons) Special Effects, were both recognised at the City College awards evening.

The annual awards evening recognises the success of students, employers and staff, highlighting their successes and outstanding achievement.

Both Esther, 30, and Leon, 18, are from Southampton and studied at City College prior to joining Solent. They shared their surprise at winning awards…

Esther Collier was awarded the Daily Echo Student Achievement Award, and she previously studied a Level 3, HNC and HND in photography at City College: “It was a real honour to receive the award, and it was a really nice experience for myself to have my hard work recognised in such a way. I had no idea that I was nominated until I received my invite to the award ceremony evening.”

Awarded the 2017 Young Student of the Year award, Leon, who studied a Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design during his time at City College, says: “I was stunned! I never would have expected such an award during my time in college.”
