The Royal Television Society Southern will welcome historian, Dan Snow MBE, on Thursday 12 March for an In Conversation With… event, hosted at Solent University, which is open to a limited number of members of the public.

Dan has been a regular on our TV screens since 2002 and is passionate about his subject. He has presented programmes on all aspects of History for the BBC, The History Channel and Channel Five.

Now, Dan has created History Hit, which aims to bring the stories that shaped the world to its audience through live events, podcasts and an online History Channel.

In this event, Dan will explain how his love of history has set him on a path to reach and enthuse new audiences about the past using social media, cutting edge technology and savvy ways to maximise content.

“I am really proud to be doing a Royal Television Society event in my local city of Southampton, and meeting up with lots of friends and colleagues,” he explains. “It’s all part of the dynamic media scene on the South Coast.”

Stephanie Farmer, Chair of RTS Southern added: “We are delighted to welcome Dan Snow to talk about his experiences in the world of television. He is a familiar face on our TV screens, and is now enthralling an on-line audience with his knowledge and ability to bring to life the history that is all around us, but that may otherwise be forgotten or unknown.”

In Conversation With Dan Snow is free to attend and open to a limited number of members of the public and students from across the region. Tickets are available here and must be booked in advance.
