Do you make music in Southampton?

Southampton musicians, and those who help contribute to the local music scene, are being asked to share their experiences and help shape the future of what’s on offer in the city.

Southampton Solent University is carrying out research to find out the range of ways that people are regularly involved in making music in the city – whether it’s professionally, for fun or the good of their health.

“This is the first time a survey like this has been carried out in the city, and we’re excited to see how people contribute to the lively music scene in Southampton,” says Paul Rutter Head of Music at Solent and principal instigator in the Solent Research Challenge.

“The outcome of the survey will help us to bid for external research funding to help support the local music community and beyond.”

The survey will be open until 31 March 2017 and can be accessed online https://tinyurl.com/solentresearchchallenge
