MA degree show 2018
Postgraduate students across the School of Art, Design and Fashion recently came together for their end of year showcase – celebrating their achievements and exhibiting a variety of work from MA Creative Direction for Fashion and Beauty, MA Critical Creative Practice and MA Visual Communication.
Postgraduate students across the School of Art, Design and Fashion recently came together for their end of year showcase – celebrating their achievements and exhibiting a variety of work from MA Creative Direction for Fashion and Beauty and MA Visual Communication.
Visitors to the exhibition were treated to a mix of artistic films, striking photography, tactile garments and original merchandise. Charlotte Logue, MA Creative Direction for Fashion and Beauty graduate said of the event “being able to walk around and see everyone’s conclusions was really great, and it gave such a sense of achievement for everybody”.
To complement the exhibition, students came together to publish ‘ POST’ a newspaper providing a glimpse into the growing postgraduate courses and research within the school.
Jennifer Anyan, head of postgraduate provision for the School of Art, Design and Fashion, said: “This is one of many opportunities students have to gain the skills and hands-on experience relating to their course. Our creative postgraduate community employs a mixture of dynamic and experimental approaches to the practice and critical consideration of art, design and fashion at its broadest.”
MA students have also been involved in projects working with IBM’s design studio alongside ‘Internet of Things’ designers at the Festival of Innovation; involved in research exploring the evolution of creativity, communication and the new order of creative classification; as well as building an international community that combines their creativity, delivering outcomes that are outward facing and ignoring established boundaries.
