Solent graduate beats 66 applicants to land Graphic Design job

Sissel Pettersen graduated from our BA (Hons) Graphic Design programme in 2014 and now works at Breakfast, one of Norway’s leading digital design agencies. Beating 66 other applicants for the role, Sissel impressed Breakfast’s creative team with her broad and well-developed grasp of modern design.

Christian Braathen, creative director at Breakfast, said: “Sissel is much more than a design ‘sprout’. She understands the conceptual development needed for both print and digital platforms. To master design and typography in the digital environment is no sure thing for a recent graduate, but Sissel has proved she can do this with aplomb.”

Pettersen started her graphic design education at NKH in Norway, before moving to the UK to take her final year and complete her degree at Southampton Solent University. She was also one of the few graduates who were selected to represent the University’s School of Art and Design at the prestigious D&AD exhibition in London.

“We predict she will have a brilliant career, and we are very happy she has chosen to start it with us,” Braathen said.
