For her final major project, BA (Hons) Visual Arts (Top-Up) student, Annemarie Havlickova, decided to make a book of all the things that inspire her - and it's quite a book! We talked to Annemarie, 23, from Prague, about her project, and what she plans to do next.
Tell us about your final major project
One big (he)art chamber is a book full of suggestions - films, songs, literature, things to do, things to drink, things to enjoy ... It's divided into 12 months and contains the things I like and that you could like too. Have a look and get some inspiration!
What inspired you to produce this book?
Let's say my book is made of all the things that inspire me in general. Just a few of them: Beach House, Nick Cave, Franz Kafka ... I put it all together into my book full of text and images.
What have you enjoyed most about your time at Solent?
Our course was a great new experience for me, and I enjoyed every little thing! I met amazing friends. I loved the great facilities - the printroom and the lasercut - and the studio was literally my second home.
What's next for you?
I'm planning to stay at Solent to do the MA Visual Communication course. I would also like to look for some interesting creative internships.
What advice would you give to other students or potential students?
Share as much time as you can with your peers from class and your tutors. It is incredibly helpful and inspirational. Think about their opinions. Don't be afraid of experiments, and try everything you can!
