Team Solent Football (men’s) are through to the third round of the FA Vase for the first time, and will face Bodmin Town on Saturday 3 December.

Despite travelling to Shaftesbury FC with a weakened squad due to injuries and illnesses, the team got the job done with a 3-1 win, which particularly pleased team manager James Taylor, who found himself in goal for the 90 minutes!

This is the 16th win out of 17 leagues and cup games for Team Solent, who are the only university team left in the competition.

They are now gearing up for their home game at Test Park on Saturday 3 December (kick off 3pm).

“Being short on players made it a slightly tougher game, but they pulled together and I’m proud of the 3-1 win against Shaftesbury,” says Coach James Taylor.

“I’m proud of the team for getting the furthest they have reached in the FA Vase, and we’re excited to be able to play in front of a home crowd.

“It has been a great year for Team Solent, winning the Southampton Senior Cup for the second time and now reaching this stage of the FA Vase.”

Tickets and programmes are available from the turnstile at Test Park on the night.
