Biography

Kate is an associate lecturer in health and fitness. her background is in sports therapy and sports massage. She has teaching qualifications in the following:

  • IIHHT in sports therapy.
  • IHBC in massage.
  • Premier Diploma in sports therapy and personal training.
  • FAETC Adult Teaching.
  • D32, D33, D34 NVQ assessor.
  • Exercise to music teacher and assessor.

Kate has been teaching in the sport, health and fitness industry for 20 years. She used to run a successful personal training business offering outdoor training, kids fitness, sports massage and nutritional programs, as well as offering sports massage to rugby, running, football and swimming clubs in the Bath region. She has taught for Premier Training, Lifetime Fitness, Bournemouth and Poole College and this is her second year teaching at Southampton Solent University. She still runs exercises to music courses in Bournemouth for Discovery Learning and regularly assesses and internally verifies fitness instructor and personal training courses.

She says: “Being in the big outdoors is perfect for me”. Kate regularly runs and cycles, and enjoys skiing, kayaking and mountaineering.
