Peter is Dean of the Faculty of Creative Industries, Architecture and Engineering and a visiting professor at the Shanghai Institute of Technology, China. He has over 20 years' experience in education and has taught, led and managed a whole range of courses in the area of visual communication during this time.
International and outward looking in focus he has been successful in securing two very high profile externally funded projects that have enabled staff and students to study, work and create networks across Europe and internationally. Peter is an active researcher and an experienced peer reviewer for publications, conferences and symposia. He is a member of the steering group for Illustration Research, a network of national and international institutions created to generate critical thinking and writing around the area of illustration.
Peter is also an associate editor for the Journal of Illustration a peer reviewed publication that provides an international forum for scholarly research and investigation into a whole range of areas relating to illustration. Peter is an active external examiner and has experience validating courses internally and externally across a whole range of disciplines.
Peter maintains his professional practice through exhibitions, publications, papers and conferences, primarily in the area of fine art printmaking. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art, London in 2000, where he received the prestigious Augustus Martin Award and a British Airways Travel Scholarship, Peter has shown nationally and internationally and his work is collected widely in the UK, Canada, China, Germany, Korea and the USA.
