Aneta Postek

Biography

Aneta leads the Virtual Production Unit at Solent University, bringing over 15 years of experience as a creative director, graphic designer, and virtual production practitioner. She has taught media and film production, media theory, animation, and virtual production at institutions including Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth.

Aneta specialises in virtual production technologies, animatronics, and in-camera effects, and has developed innovative curricula that integrate these technologies with industry practice standards.

Aneta is passionate about connecting students with industry professionals to enhance their learning experience. She actively participates in organising industry events, enabling students to network, gain insights into the latest workflows, and receive feedback on their work. Her dedication ensures that students acquire both technical skills and valuable industry connections.

In her research, Aneta Postek-Mioduszewska examines the philosophical dimensions of realism and formalism, employing a phenomenological approach to explore the evolving dynamics of virtual production workflows and the integration of animatronics in traditional film in-camera effects. She emphasises the hermeneutic aspects of communication, analysing the dialogue and language used between the film industry, TV, and creative technologies. This involves investigating how practitioners perceive and interpret the blending of traditional film techniques with contemporary virtual production technologies, shedding light on the subjective understandings that shape modern media production practices.

Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Aneta enjoys painting, scuba diving, swimming, and music.
