Biography
Dafna an artist and lecturer based in London and completed a BA Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London (2001) and MA Fine Art Photography at the Royal College of Art (2004), UK.
Dafna's practice encompasses photography, video, collaborations and curation. My photographs are included in public collections such as Deutsche Bank, Hiscox and in numerous private collections. My work has been featured in publications such as Camera Austria, ArtReview, Hotshoe, Elephant, IMA, BJP, GUP, UYW, Photomonitor, Post-Photography: The Artist with a Camera by Robert Shore (Laurence King Publishing-2014) and Alternative Photographic Processes: Crafting Handmade Images by Brady Wilks (Focal Press-2015).
I am the recipient of Arts Council England Grants for the Arts Awards (2013 & 2014), the Photofusion Select Bursary Award (2013), selected as a series finalist for the Renaissance Photography Prize 2013, IV Daniela Chappard Biennale Photography Award (2007) and was nominated for the Paul Hamlyn Artist Award (2005).
Alongside my practice and teaching at Solent, I co-lead an annual Fine Art Summer School at Goldsmiths, University of London and am an external examiner on the FdA and BA Photography course at Barking & Dagenham College – University of East London.
Further information
Dafna has industry experience in teaching, curating, exhibiting, arts project management and presenting talks/lectures. In partnership, in 2008, she set up and continues to run a members’ colour and B&W darkroom in East London.
