Biography

Following qualification at Solent University, Julie joined Studio Four Architects Ltd in 2004 to work as an Architectural Technologist. She worked her way up from a junior member of staff to Associate working on small domestic extensions to running multi-million-pound schemes. Working at Studio Four gave Julie a broad range of experience, working on varying types of projects including disabled adaptations to domestic properties, house extensions, new build houses for domestic clients and developers, doctors surgeries, lifeboat stations, hospitals, nursing homes, colleges & universities, leisure centers, schools, offices and commercial vehicle workshops.

In 2016 Julie joined Solent University full time and has been working in the Corporate Project Management Office a Project Manager. This involved closing out the Handover of the Spark building, assisting with stakeholder engagement on the New Sports Building, leading as project manager on the new Simulation Centre and Safety Training Centre and Fire school project. Julie has been leading as client representative for BIM Level 2 delivery of the New Sports building project. Julie has also been acting as a Principal Designer (formerly CDM Co-ordinator) since attending a CDM Co-ordinator training course in 2008.

In 2013 Julie became a Chartered member of The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (MCIAT). Following this in 2014 Julie entered Cowes Lifeboat Station for a CIAT Award for Technical Excellence in Architectural Technology the scheme was awarded a “Commendation”. Julie has been an active member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists South East Region’s Committee since February 2015.
