Photography at Solent
Photography is a rewarding career that covers everything from family portraits and fashion to product photography and art exhibitions, amongst many other areas – it can be highly varied in the studio or on location.
Composing the perfect picture is an art form that can be expressed to tell a story through light and technology. With awareness of photography history and building on historical methods and visual exploration to evolve techniques, at Solent you can embrace technology through digital equipment as well as traditional film.
Throughout the course you will be supported to develop your creative, imaginative and critical abilities, guided by a teaching team who have a mix of commercial, artistic and academic backgrounds.
You can join a creative community and collaborate with students across many other courses including film, TV and fashion.
Courses are supported by a programme of industry guest speakers, which in the past has included appearances by Richard Billingham, Catherine Yass, Charlotte Cotton, Ori Gersht, Brian Dillon, Peter Fraser, Dan Holdsworth, Chrystel Lebas, Jeremy Millar, Sophy Rickett, Margaret Salmon and Tom Hunter.
