Our courses are all about giving you real-world experience. You'll get to do everything from short visits to week-long events to get a feel for the industry. Some courses even have placement modules where you can spend a few weeks working in sports, health, or education settings. If you want to dive deeper, you can do a year-long placement between your second and third years. This means working full-time in places like sports clubs, health providers, or other relevant industries, which is great for boosting your career prospects.

• Endorsed means the course content has been checked to ensure it gives you the skills and knowledge employers in that field are looking for.

• Accredited often comes with extra benefits while you study, like professional membership, insurance or exam exemptions.

• Recognised means your degree meets national standards for that profession, showing you're prepared to work safely and effectively once qualified.

Whichever term is used, it's a sign your course has been shaped by the people who hire in that industry, so what you learn lines up with what employers need.

Our physiology lab is CASES-accredited, making it one of the top labs in the UK. It's used by teams like Hampshire County Cricket, Team GB Wheelchair Rugby, and AFC Totton. In our biomechanics lab, you'll use state-of-the-art equipment like the Vicon 3D motion capture system, force plates, and a portable EMG system.

Our sports complex is packed with great facilities, including affordable gym memberships for all students. We've got two sports halls, a modern public gym, a high-performance gym, a teaching gym, and three sport and exercise therapy clinical spaces. You'll also have access to our CASES-accredited physiology lab and a biomechanics lab with industry-grade tech. Plus, our Test Park football centre has a full-size 3G pitch, a floodlit FA-level football pitch, and more.

Our Sport Excellence Programme supports talented athletes through the TASS Dual-Career route. This programme is tailored to your sporting talent and academic potential, with a team to help you balance uni and competing. You'll get strength and conditioning sessions, sport therapy, psychology and nutrition support, lab testing, workshops, and up to £5,000 in bursaries.

Absolutely! No matter your level, there's a sport for you at Solent. We've got over 35 sports clubs and societies, from snow sports and sailing to hockey and American football. More than 600 students take part in sports each year. Some clubs compete in the BUCS league, and you can also play recreational sports in our modern complex.

You'll learn both theory and practical skills - essential for a career in the sport and fitness industry. On campus, you'll join seminars, workshops, practical sessions, lab work, and guest lectures. Plus, you'll have access to our virtual learning platform for extra resources.
