Our teaching team has extensive industry and practical experience. Production tutors are film-makers, editors, cinematographers, television producers and directors. They will encourage you to produce informed and imaginative written and practical work, and equip you with the wide range of employability skills essential for a career in the industry.
You will have the opportunity to take part in outside broadcasting and filming opportunities at events such as Glastonbury and Cowes Week. You can also work with external clients via Solent Creatives, the University’s media agency, and Solent Productions, the University’s production unit.
The School of Media Arts and Technology benefits from a large range of guest speakers and visiting fellows. Recent speakers have included Anne V Coates (Oscar-winning editor), Paul Franklin (Oscar winner for visual effects on Inception), Brian Tufano (cinematographer on Trainspotting,Quadrophenia and Billy Elliot) and Sir Alan Parker (director of Fame, Evita, Bugsy Malone, The Commitments and Mississippi Burning).
